RECYCLE YOUR CASHMERE

SHOULD YOU WASH YOUR CASHMERE CLOTHES?

Contrary to popular belief: cashmere loves water!

Whether hand-washed or machine-washed, a cold wash will make it even softer and smoother, particularly by reducing the appearance of pilling. However, there are a few simple rules to follow, as follows!

Please note, however, that certain cashmere items with specific characteristics (light cashmere, fancy or fluorescent colours) should not be washed: always refer to the label of your favourite garment to find out whether it can be washed or not.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU WASH YOUR CASHMERE CLOTHES?

It is recommended to wash your cashmere clothes regularly, for example after wearing a jumper three or four times. It will only be more beautiful.

Since 2021, we have given new life to 1,630 kg of 100% cashmere material, resold or sent for recycling.

For this initiative, we have chosen to collaborate with committed partners, located in France or nearby, in order to limit the transport of the material. Among them: Progetto Lana , a specialized Italian recycler, and Cashmere Collective Lab , a social and solidarity enterprise which sorts and cleans the items before sending them to Filature du Parc , a French recycler-spinner.

Starting with recycled cashmere clothing, the artist envisioned a radical transformation: deconstructing the material to better reinvent it, ultimately transforming it from the wardrobe to the world of interior furnishings. She sorts, cuts, sews, and knits the material to create an XXL knit, which is then metamorphosed into a pouf—a unique, sculptural, and meaningful piece.

Presented at the Guffanti showroom, the installation “NOTSHY makes cashmere live forever” brought together visitors, friends of the brand and partners during Milan Design Week 2023. An exhibition that allowed NOTSHY to reaffirm, on the international stage, its vision of a more responsible fashion, where creativity becomes a driver of circularity.
